Why use Brrainy if ChatGPT and Claude already have memory?
Built-in memory helps one assistant remember you inside that assistant. Brrainy keeps one memory across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok and DeepSeek, adds what lives in your other apps, and lets your agents read it.

What built-in memory does well
It is already on. There is nothing to install and nothing to decide. If you use one assistant and want it to remember your preferences and ongoing projects, its own memory is enough, and you do not need us for that.
Where it stops
Each assistant keeps its own memory, inside its own product. What you explained to one is not there when you open another, and none of it includes the documents, messages and calendar entries that live outside the chat window.
What Brrainy does instead
The Brrainy browser extension captures your conversations in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok and DeepSeek into one searchable memory. Connectors bring in the apps your work already lives in.
Your agents read the same memory over MCP, through two tools: brain_recall and brain_remember.
You can bring your own model key, and it is honoured for chat, embeddings, reranking, OCR and speech-to-text.
When to choose which
Use built-in memory if one assistant is where all your thinking happens. Use Brrainy when your context is spread across several assistants and apps, or when a team needs to share it.
Questions
- Does Brrainy replace ChatGPT or Claude?
- No. You keep using the assistants you like. Brrainy keeps the memory underneath them, so switching between them does not mean starting over.
- Which assistants does Brrainy capture from?
- ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok and DeepSeek, through the browser extension. Any MCP-capable client can read the same memory.
